Jamal Murray, playing through illness, logged 42 minutes, shot 9-of-19 for 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists, with a game-high plus-minus of +28. His performance, while visibly unwell on the bench, was seen as a tribute to Michael Jordan.

In this do-or-die Game 6, Murray opened the first quarter with a 3-point play and led the Nuggets in a shootout with the Thunder. As the Thunder offense went cold, Denver went on a 12–1 run to pull ahead. However, after building a 10-point lead, the Nuggets’ offense stalled, allowing the Thunder to cut it with an 8–1 run. At the end of the first, Denver led 31–28. Despite being ill, Murray went 4-for-5 in the quarter for 11 points and 2 assists, and was seen sitting on the bench with a towel over his head, clearly in discomfort. Jokic added 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists on 3-of-4 shooting in the first.

In the second quarter, Denver briefly trailed by as many as 12 points before Murray and Jokic led a comeback. Braun hit two straight threes during a 12–0 run to tie the game. Dort then hit a buzzer-beating three to give OKC a 61–58 halftime lead. At the break, Jokic had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, Murray had 13 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists (despite taking a hard elbow to the face), Braun had 15 points, and OKC’s star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 14 points but was in foul trouble with 4 fouls.

In the third quarter, both teams battled in a back-and-forth stretch before the Thunder again went cold. The Nuggets responded with a 14–2 run to take the lead. After three quarters, Denver led 90–82. Murray added 9 more points in the period, while Jokic chipped in with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Julian Strawther came off the bench to score 8 crucial points, emerging as an X-factor. During this stretch, Murray scored on a fast break and drew an offensive foul on Jalen Williams, letting out an emotional roar in celebration.

In the final quarter, Murray hit a big three to ignite the home crowd. The Thunder then missed 13 straight three-pointers, and Denver extended its lead. With 5 minutes remaining, the Nuggets were up by 16. As the Thunder tried to rally, Strawther knocked down another clutch three, and Jokic sealed the win with key free throws. Denver ultimately secured the Game 6 victory and forced a decisive Game 7.

Murray’s gutsy performance while battling illness helped the Nuggets stay alive. U.S. media jokingly called him "Jordan for the night." According to stats, this was Murray’s 6th time scoring at least 25 points in an elimination game.
